The members of the Aesthetic Research Centre teach or supervise graduate students in areas close to their own research. All postgraduates are invited to participate in the group’s lively programme of research events, including international exchanges, conferences, seminars and symposia.
PhD in Philosophy of Art
The Aesthetics Research Centre has particular research expertise around visual art forms including painting, photography and film; depiction and representation; intersections between ethics and aesthetics; beauty, taste and the sublime in 18th century aesthetics; the aesthetics of popular music; the interrelations between art and science; and topics in the contemporary philosophy of art.
